Web Scripting VirusWhat is it?A Web Scripting Virus is a type of malware that can breach your web browser security. When it does so, it injects some malicious code to take over the web browser and alter your settings. |
---|
How does it work?
Every application contains a script
(a programming code written in the core of the application,
which controls its behavior and the elements it contains)
A virus attack consists of getting to the script of the application
to compose malicious codes to it, which then causes the program to fail.
Danger Particular danger of this type of malware is
that this virus at some point appears to be hard to recognize
because the system execution of the attacked virus remains
practically unaltered.
The malicious JAVAscript code often makes it difficult to tell
apart from the general web-page mark-up.
How To Detect This Virus? It is common to encounter this virus while you are
web browsing, because the web scripting virus normally originates
from web page ads and so is omnipresent. Web scripting viruses can
be joined onto the clickable media, such as links, images, or videos.
Read more on cyber security here! Types Of Web Scripting VirusesWe distinguish two types of web scripting viruses. The first one is a persistent web scripting virus attack; it is when your cookies are legitimately stolen and a virus can hack your session. This allows the virus to impersonate you and can do a lot of harm. While the second type is when you’re being attacked without knowing, called a non-persistent attack. |

How to protect your computer from Web scripting viruses? The Web Scripting virus will most likely be triggered
by your actions: clicks on interactive content,
opening email attachments from untrusted sources, visiting malicious websites, etc.
So the best way to protect your device is by being very attentive while using your browser.
Try avoiding visiting suspicious websites and instead only use
official websites not only for downloading software but also for general purposes.
Avoid clicking on ads, pop-up windows or any other potentially compromised content.
